Location Belcarra is located between the N60 (Castlebar/Claremorris) and the N84 (Castlebar-Ballinrobe) in the northern part of The Plains of Mayo. Below is a Google Maps image of Belcarra and it's surrounding area.
The nearest Irish Rail stop is Castlebar Station which is 8.6km from Belcarra. From the station take the first left onto Station Road and follow N84 National Road for approximately 400 metres. Then turn left onto the L1704 and this will take you directly to Belcarra.
From Galway: Head Northwest and take N84/Headford Road route via Kirwan Roundabout. Continue to Headford and proceed straight onto R334 road which will take you to Ballinrobe. The R334 re-merges with the N84 at Ballinrobe, turn left onto Cornmarket and continue until you can take first left onto Bridge Street. Approximately 300 metres onwards turn right onto L1607 (Liskilleen). Continue until you get to a T-junction (Ballyglass Post Office/Gilligan's Shop directly in front) and turn left. Belcarra is 8km further on from here.
From Sligo: Head Southwest and take N4/N17 towards Coolooney and then take N5 towards Westport via Charlestown. At Ballyvary turn left and then left again following road through village. Continue straight on this road to Manulla National School (on left) and junction with N60. Cross over (when clear to do so) and continue for approximately 4km and you will arrive in Belcarra.
From Dublin: Please note that this route has Tolls. Head Southwest and take N4/M4 onto M6 and then onto N61 and N60 (via Moate, Athlone, Roscommon). Stay on the N60 from Roscommon to Balla. After you go through Balla approximately 3km take left (there is a railway crossing and holy statue as you turn). Continue for about 2km until you get to a T-Junction, turn right and you will arrive in Belcarra approximately 2km further on.
